Being family owned ensures that the standard of child care provided to your child is the same given to each of our three children that attend this daycare. We understand the emotions associated with deciding who to entrust with your child. After five years at another daycare in Edmond, our family’s world was turned upside down when that facility closed. Thus began an adventure in 2020 of buying One Step at a Time, a daycare established in 1998. We then assembled a team of experienced caregivers that we personally know and trust.

Our philosophy is to provide a caring and loving environment for your child with faith based morals and values that build a young mind and heart. We want our center to be an investment in your child's future, not just a daycare experience. Our goal is to develop the confidence and skills your child needs for school and day-to-day living. We strive to be a positive part your child’s experience and to provide a well-rounded environment concentrating on the physical and emotional needs of each child. We take great pride in our facility which features an air purification system and security cameras in each room.

One Step at a Time serves ages six weeks through elementary school. We transport to most Edmond schools, we do not go to Deer Creek schools. The curriculum focuses on your child’s learning and development. We challenge them with shapes, colors, numbers, letters, handwriting, music, science and math. Morals, values, sign language and Spanish are also included in the educational program. Your child will take part in group time and teacher time as well as enjoying free time that is designed for discovering unique interests. We include periodic bible stories and prayer in our classrooms.

The dietary administrators take great pride in preparing nutritional meals and snacks. The children enjoy growing and harvesting veggies, from their own One Step Garden, which are used in seasonal recipes. They are offered a breakfast of whole wheat toast, oatmeal or whole wheat pancakes served with milk, juice and water. Lunch includes protein, grain, vegetable, fruit, milk and water. Snacks are made up of two components such as muffins and fruit, cheese and crackers or peanut butter sandwiches. Menus are posted in the lobby of the daycare.
